For over 60 years James Marshall Parent Participation Nursery School (JMPNS) has provided an education setting where parents and teachers come together to guide the learning experiences of each child. Our school offers an opportunity for parents and children to learn about themselves and each other in an environment designed for growth and exploration.

JMPNS was founded in 1954 by a group of parents who wanted to establish a cooperative preschool for their children. Parents gathered for work parties to clean, repair, and redecorate an old school building. That commitment to parent involvement remains the hallmark of our school. JMPNS is the first and only cooperative school of its kind in West Sacramento.
